Grammie's (Luella's) Pecan Pie

Ingredients

1/2 C      Sugar
1   C      Dark Corn Syrup
1/4 tsp    Salt
1   Tbsp   Flour
2          Eggs
1   tsp    Vanilla
1   Tbsp   Melted Butter
1 1/4 C    Pecan Halves (Diamond Brand in Can)

Make Pie Shell.

Beat together sugar syrup salt eggs flour. Add vanilla, butter, pecans. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Turn pecans so rounded side is up. Bake in a slow oven (300°) for about an hour.

To brown crust, brush edges with a little milk before baking.

History

This recipe was handed down by my mother from her mother. I think of my Grammie whenever I make it, but even more when I eat it!
